East Hamilton’s football team lost 49-24 to Soddy Daisy High School on Friday, August 25. Despite the loss at our first home game of the season, there were notable people to be recognized, such as Devontay Tipton, #3, who was able to score with blocking assistance from the team. Another player to recognize is Drako Wise, #2, who also made a touchdown. Darien Hill, #19, should also be recognized for still standing strong after getting injured in the third quarter. The audience showed proper recognition by dedicating a moment of silence for him while the players knelt on the field and the coaches prayed. Much support came from the audience, especially the student section. Many students showed extra school spirit by coming to the game early to paint themselves and each other school colors and a few football players’ numbers. Afterwards, the student section evoked a tradition by running into the field with the players. Both students and football players plan on bringing just as much hope and spirit to future football games. Player #6 on the team showed this faith in his team by saying, “We’re coming back strong this Friday, believe that.”
